New England Colonies
Alexandra L
The English colonies had many tribal conflicts with other colonies and people including the Native americans. Some conflicts between the Natives and the New English were the diseases. The New English settlers gave the Native Americans the smallpox and other diseases they were not immune to. After the Natives' leader died, his son took his place, this caused them to have second thoughts about their friendship and trust with the New English settlers. They attacked the towns and villages, many people and children were killed. In the war, the English bribed some of the Natives with European goods to come on their side and fight their own people.

The Middle Colonies by Somdatta Ghosh
Here's a picture of the 13 colonies.
New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania are part of the Middle Colonies.
<http://www.enchantedlearning.com/usa/statesbw/13colonies/13colonies.shtml>
Based upon my research, the Middle Colonies (New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania) didn’t really have any major conflicts with the New England Colonies (New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island) or the Southern Colonies (Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.). There were never really any huge wars or battles between the three regions. However, the Middle Colonies did have its differences between the Southern Colonies. Religion for instance was one of their differences. Another was the idea of slavery. The farthest procedure the Middle and the Southern Colonies took to handle their differences was arguing with each other.
In this paragraph, I shall explain why the New England Colonies, the Middle Colonies and, the Southern Colonies had their differences in religious beliefs. The Middle Colonies believed in religious pluralism while the Southern Colonies were mainly Anglicans. Religious pluralism is living with different people with different religions and accepting each other. The Middle Colonies settlers were the only people that accepted religious pluralism. The Southern Colonies strongly opposed this. The New England Colonies were mainly Puritans, the Middle Colonies supported religious pluralism, and the Southern Colonies were mainly Anglicans.
Another difference the Middle Colonies and the Southern Colonies had was the use of slaves. The Middle Colonies didn’t have many slaves contrasting the Southern Colonies. The Southern Colonies used slaves everyday in their plantations. Some people in the Southern Colonies even lived off of slave trading! The Southern Colonies needed slaves in order to survive. Slaves were mainly used to work on plantations. On the other hand, the Middle Colonies didn’t need slaves because of the partially rocky soil and cold climate.

Southern Colonies
Many early conflicts arose from contact with Native Americans. Interestingly, some of them were incited by the Indians themselves. They would have skirmishes or even all out battles and raids to try and gain more land and force the settlers away. Unfortunately, these retaliations only made the settlers more convinced that the Natives were violent and barbaric. More conflicts occurred between the colonies themselves; Georgia was founded to "give the underclass a chance," but they also had the duty of protecting the northern colonies from French invasion. Also, conflicts arised from the many economic differences the colonies had. While New England colonists based their economy in commerce and fishing, the Southern colonists were farmers with large plantations that required lots of labour to maintain.
Thus, the use of slaves was introduced, and Southern colonists grew to depend on it as a cheap source of labour.
Many of the Middle and New England colonies' religious groups (especially the Quakers and Puritans) resented the Southern colonists' use of slaves. These conflicts ultimately resulted in the Civil War years later. This brings us back to the ever important issue of reiligion. The Southern colonists were Baptistsand Anglicans. That predisposed them to disliking the Puritans of New England, who had separated themselves from the Anglican Church (Church of England).
